In the summer of 2009 God blessed tremendously the ministry in Olomouc with two highly successful Christian, English camps for 49 middle-school and high-school students from in and around Olomouc and more than 30 teammates and volunteers!
In 2010 and 2011 the summer camp experiences continued with four more camps- each year including more than 70 Czech students among that summer's camps!
This year Team Olomouc is praying God will bless the people in this ministry with two more exciting and life-changing, week-long camps!
The first camp is designed for students ages 13-16 and the second camp for students ages 16-20. The general theme for both of our upcoming summer camps is "Contrast."
Both camps will take place at the same retreat center in the same village outside of Olomouc where previous years' camps for students were held. This remote location is void of many common distractions and allows for a full week of focused group lessons and activities and personal relationship-building.
Some of our many camp group activities include times of English language study in small groups, Christian programs and discussion groups to talk about the given theme for each day, and fun activities, games and sports designed both to develop students' English skills and to share important concepts about God and the Christian faith.
Our teachers for this year's camps will be university students sent from two of our team's supporting churches in Arkansas- from Robinson and Center Church of Christ in Conway, Arkansas, and from Mt. Comfort Church of Christ in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Our additional camp volunteer staff will consist of the campaign group leaders, several summer interns, and friends from Olomouc and the surrounding area.
In 2009, 2010, and 2011 we requested your help in supporting students who wanted to attend camp. Your kind donations allowed us to offer scholarships to a great number of students!
This year we would like to request your kind help again so that the cost for many more students can be defrayed by the gift of a camp scholarship. For a one-time donation of $50 or $100 you can ensure that these students have the best opportunity to attend and participate in one of this year's camps.
